Wisdom Keeper Poppets

Poppets, an Old Celtic form of doll
making, by creating a small doll out of
bits of fabric, beads, baubles, and
trinkets...recycle and reuse.
These miniatures range from 4 - 6 inches
tall and either come with a pin back to
attach to your lapel or tote bag, or come
with a loop on the back to be able to
hang as an ornament, or on wall.

The Wisdom Keeper Art Dolls are
Original One of a Kind creations.

I use as many recycled materials as
are available, and they are sculpted
of Clay or Gourd. Each Doll comes
with a Story Card that tells their
story.

All of my Art Dolls have my
signature on the base and come
with an Art Card with signature as
well.

Wisdom Keepers Art Doll

"The Artist's Muse"
This is the Muse for the Artist - inspiring and
bold. She is pregnant with ideas and a flow of
creativity.

The Muse is a cloth art doll based out of batik
fabric and a clay face. Her hair is pieces of Sari
material. She is embellished with beads, silk
flower, and beaded trim. On her abdomen is yet
another smaller clay face, to symbolize the
birthing of creative ideas.
The Muse is bold and delightful.

She is secured on a wooden base which is
signed by me and comes with a story card that
tells about her.

"Sakura ~ The Kunoichi"

(Sakura: meaning - Cherry Blossoms)
(Kunoichi - Female Ninja)

Sakura is a Kunaoichi - female Ninja. She is
highly trained in combat, but is also trained to
only use her skills when needed. Kunoichi often
disguise themselves as entertainers or geisha
in order to get close to those she needs
information from.
Sakura fully embraces this - her cloth body is
designed with a powerful black and silver
dragon print cotton, which is then embellished
with very delicate feminine beading and beaded
"cherry blossoms" in her hair and in her hands.
Yellow silk is draped around her waist and
flows to the floor, and the yellow and lime green
ribbons represent the balanced flow of chi that
she posesses.

She is secured on a wooden base which is
signed by me and comes with a story card that
tells her story.

Wisdom Keepers Art Doll

~ Emma~

Emma is fashioned to a Native
American woman I knew from the
Southeast. Here she is preparing for
a smudging ceremony, and has a
smudge fan in her arms, an abalone
shell with sweetgrass and lavender
on her left, and a clay bowl with
lavender on her right. She drapes a
native cloth over her right arm and
wears a piece of turqoise jewelry at
her neck. Her regalai is suede and
her hair is wool roving braided down
her back.
Emma is an original sculpt of doll making clay
and is about 7 inches tall. She is secured on a
wooden base which is signed and dated by me.

~ Nadine the Storyteller ~

Nadine is one of my favorites, an
eclectic woman that has traveled the
world and spent time with many
indigenous cultures. Now she has
brought those wonderful stories back
and shares them with school children.

Nadine is an orginal clay sculpt and stands
approximately 11 inches tall. Her clothing is
suede and cotton adroned with fibers and
leather. She holds a storytelling staff under her
arm, and at her feet is her storybook that is
made of handmade paper that was made with
distressing inks. She is attached to a wooden
base which is signed and dated by me.

~ Gia ~
Keeper of the Folk Moon Skies

Gia is reminesent of the Appalachian
skies in the mountains. She is is the
Keeper of the Stars, saving them for
peoples wishes. Her neighbors visit
her when they want to wish upon a
star.

Gia is approximately 12 inches tall and is clay
and cloth. Her clothing is made of felt. The
moon and stars are made of cloth.
She is attached to a wooden base for display
which is signed and dated by me.

~ Marianna ~
The Interpreter

Marianna is a field guide. She assists
those that are exploring the woods,
making sure they keep on the path and
don't find themselves lost. In essence,
because of her wisdom, she has also
become a guide in spiritual matters as
well, because she is such a good
listener, helping those when they feel
at a crossroads.

Marianna is approximately 12 inchesl tall ismade
of clay and cloth. Her hair is roving. Her clothing is
batik and suede. She is adorned with dried leaves
and holds a walking staff. She is attached to a
wooden base whcih is signed and dated by me.

Callie the Music Maker

“Callie ’s passion is the beauty of music.
She plays her songs night and day for all
who will listen and become entranced in
happiness. She dances her way through life
with the songs in her heart, just waiting to
share them and bring smiles of delight. The
enchantment that she brings lingers, so
that the listener can always here the bliss
of her melodies , even when she is resting.”

Callie is a cloth formed Art Doll with a clay
face. Her hair is completely hand beaded by
me in it own little eclectic style. She has
light beading on her body and holds her
instrument in her hands. She is
approximately 11 inches tall and is secured
on a wooden base for display, which is
signed and dated by me
